Our academic workshops aim to address the challenges and gaps surrounding the transition between second level and third level and also for those who are returning to education as mature students from the workforce.

Introductory Academic Skills

  • This workshop is for TY students who are interested in exploring the basics of what to expect when moving from second to third level education.

    Delivered in schools in a series of four one-hour workshops, students are introduced to what its like to study at third level.

    Students will be inspired to progress to Higher Education and will be motivated to fully engage in their upcoming Senior Cycle studies.

  • Senior cycle students are introduced basic academic skills which will prepare them for entry to Higher Education.

    Delivered in schools in a series of four one-hour workshops, students are introduced to the entry-level fundamentals of academic reading, writing, research and referencing.

    By engaging in this workshop, students will experience less transitional stress from second to third level and will be poised to achieve their full potential. Students are also provided with more in-depth resources which to assist them in their future studies.

    Engagement with the facilitator throughout the workshop about queries they have regarding Higher Education not only brings clarity but motivates students to progress to third level and do their best in upcoming examinations.

  • Delivered in colleges of further education in a series of four one-hour workshops, students are introduced to the fundamentals of academic reading, writing, research and referencing which will benefit them throughout their undergraduate course.

    By engaging in this workshop, students will be poised to achieve their full potential and gain clarity around academic rigour and requirements. Students are also provided with in-depth resources to assist them.

    Engagement with the facilitator throughout the workshop about queries not only brings clarity but motivates students to progress to third level and do their best in examinations and assessments.

  • This course has been designed to help those thinking of returning to or entering further education to build confidence and feel comfortable using technology. These workshops are ideal for mature students or those of any age who would like to build their confidence in using technology throughout the course of their studies.

    Through a series of group or one-to-one workshops, students will be introduced to the aspects of technology most frequently used in the further education setting. Students shall also be provided with resources which they can draw upon to assist them throughout their college experience.

Academic Services

Our transcription and proofreading services benefit Masters and PhD students undertaking research projects who require assistance in transcribing qualitative interviews and focus groups or proofreading material before submission for assessment.
